Trauma Informed Practice in Early Childhood and OSHC

About the event

We welcome children and their families from diverse backgrounds and experiences in all of our education and care settings, so it is valuable to approach our work with increased knowledge and skill when it comes to understanding how children who have experienced trauma can be better supported and ultimately experience improved outcomes. This 2 hour session provides educators with an introduction that will assist in building an understanding of developmental trauma and its impact on the developing brain. Educators will explore the essential principles of implementing a trauma-informed program and begin building their knowledge of trauma-aware practices.

Educators can expect to:

ü Build your understanding of developmental trauma

ü Gain insight into the impacts of trauma on the brain, development and behaviour

ü Begin to explore essential principles for establishing a trauma-informed program in early childhood

ü education.

ü Access resources and ideas for support.
